¡BIENVENIDOS!
This trip certainly gave us a warm welcome!
We were lucky enough to travel to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico a few weeks ago for our best friends’ wedding. With almost 60 people traveling to Mexico, we definitely had a ton of fun connecting, celebrating & enjoying Cabo!
On Sunday we arrived, didn’t waste any time by grabbing a margarita, and made our way to the hotel! The bride + groom had dreamed up the cutest welcome bags with Mexican themed items to greet us!
We headed to the grocery store, devoured delicious tacos at Asi y Asado and enjoyed our first sunset in Cabo! Breathtaking, really.
Monday started our week off with a bang! We had the opportunity to ride CAMELS! Yes, I said c a m e l s.
What a fun experience! While the boys were out fishing, us gals headed out to the country side, took in all of the desert landscape and hopped on the humpy backs of these adorable creatures! We were then treated to an incredible, authentic dish of molé + all the fixings, learned how to make tortillas and ended with a superb tequila tasting–toasting to the bride!
Although it was more touristy than I’m used to, I would still definitely recommend this experience!
Fun fact: The last time I rode a camel was in front of the pyramids in Egypt as a child.
This was the most talkative and ‘grumpy’ (& my favorite) of the bunch–Luisito!
We made our way back to the city, explored downtown Cabo–all of the bustling streets, vibrant colors and busy shops. . .
Before we knew it, it was time to head over to the Mexican Fiesta at Playa Grande! This lovely evening can be summed up by–good food, great friends, banda music and waiters that insisted just ‘one more tequila!’
I was able to sneak away with Connor & Aaron to enjoy the last light from the beach. The sunset was soft and gentle contrasting with the loud crash of the waves.
Salud to these two beauties in my life! Love you B + Nonnie. Wearing our new custom coordinate bracelets to always remember this trip to Cabo–all the love!
Tuesday we (Aaron, Connor, Marti, Augie + I) enjoyed the pool + beach at our resort, Grand Solmar Land’s End Resort & Spa, and played in the immense waves–in a childlike way. Soaking up the sun & losing track of time. I like how vacation does that to you.
When evening struck, we headed to the marina & whistled for a water taxi (just kidding, we definitely did not hail a taxi in that manner) to take us out to the arch! The water taxi is another thing I recommend–for $10, you get a boat ride with gorgeous views. Definitely a great bang for your buck in the day time (out to Lover’s + Divorce Beach) or for sunset!
I have said it before & I’ll say it again–to me, riding on a boat is one of the most freeing experiences. Love the wind whipping past my face & the calming splash of the water along the sides . . . & it definitely doesn’t hurt when the destination is as gorgeous as the arches were!
Our first days in Cabo were a success! To read about the rest of our adventures, see my second Cabo post xoxo
AHHH! Love all the photos. Such a gorgeous trip! & I agree 100% about riding in a boat. It’s always the best, most freeing experience. xx
Love this SO much! The camel pictures are my fave, what a fun experience.
LOVE!
