If I could describe my version of a perfect morning, it might look like–
swinging slowly in a cozy hammock hanging from the sky in a lavender-filled room.
Yep, and that dream came true. Exploring this lavender farm on a foggy, summer morning was truly A DREAM.
I want to teleport myself back to this exact moment often. Anytime I feel the weight of the adult world – home buying, technical glitches, taxes, emails piling up, etc. I’ll keep it in my pocket as one of my happy places!
There’s an amazing lavender farm only but an hour from my hometown in Utah that I’ve been yearning to go to for years, but unfortunately I always seem to be out of town when it’s open for venturing. So you can imagine my delight when I found out there was a lovely lavender farm only minutes away from the home we stayed in for the summer!
One morning we jumped into the car, coffee in hand, and drove out to this quaint piece of land in the town just inland of Camden, Maine. On the windy roads of Appleton, we found the most darling little lavender farm. We had just missed one of their harvests but there were still many varieties of lavender bushes thriving. We walked around, snapped some images, played with the chickens, chatted with their amazing staff + right before we left, we stumbled upon their drying room.
You can imagine my thrill when I saw nearly 1,500 square feet of barn filled with row after row of lavender.
(Not to mention an entire floor upstairs with hanging bundles that we couldn’t see!)
The scent was inviting. No––mesmerizing.
Quickly, I was in the room offering the young gal behind the table to help hang the bundles. She was so kind + insisted I didn’t need to help but offered to let us stay a while. We enjoyed the peace and calm, probably induced from the generous dose of aromatherapy, but it was also just the feeling.
The foggy, cool air of the morning.
Warm coffee in my mug.
The fact that I was living in Maine.
Life was good.
I want to savor that morning forever. Just me + Aaron, taking in the heavenly scent + spectacular view.
Lavender farm dreams do come true!
Thought I would share the images with you . . .

I can’t believe I’m from Midcoast Maine and have never heard of this place. It sounds absolutely incredible. I will have to file it away mentally to visit next year during the season. I’m assuming it’s past season by now? Such beautiful photography, as always! xo
You’re so kind, Mackenzie! Yes, the lavender season has passed. Be sure to check it out next summer! I’m honored you like the images + that I gave you a new place to explore in Maine! Hopefully next year we can cross paths xx
