Shades of Fall – A Collaboration with Anthropologie
A few weeks ago, when we were still in Maine, the team of Anthropologie came to visit us in Camden so that we could show them around Aaron’s home town + where we spend a portion of each year. They came at the perfect time – the leaves were beautiful and it was still warm. We showed them around our favorite spots and let Camden captivate them like it does so many. . .
After an adventurous day spent touring our town, scaling seaweed covered rocks, laughing with and learning about one another while swapping life stories – they headed home, compiled the content they got and shared this blog story. You can find the photos we captured and our interview on the Anthropologie Blog now.
Here’s an excerpt:
“Camden is the type of town you can fall in love with, especially during the fall. Known as the “Jewel of the Coast,” this little seaside community is the embodiment of Maine quaintness, complete with century-old cottages, picture-perfect cliffsides, and New England’s famous foliage.
“We thought, why settle on one home? Why just keep visiting?” remembers Aaron, 32.
It was just the latest move in their nomadic lifestyle. The pair lived in Utah for five years before changing scenery to start their company, Dérive Collective, together in Hawaii.“

And here are some images that didn’t make the blogpost. . .

It’s one of my favorite things in life to share places that I love with others; this is the reasoning behind this blog, many of my posts on social + my travel guides. What a wonderful joy to share in the awe + wonder of a new place, to discover a town, city or area like the locals do. To see under the shiny surface and experience somewhere like Camden in an honest and true way. We loved sharing our little gem of a town with the Anthro Team + now with you!
Here’s where we went:
- Walked around Camden Harbor
- Strolled through town + grabbed a dirty chai at Zoot Coffee
- Explored the forest overlooking Curtis Lighthouse, then made our way down to the rocky beach for a closer look
- Drove to the top of Mt. Battie for the views (this is also a great hike)
- Ended the night with a beach fire at Lincolnville Beach
As always, I ask that you respect all places that I share here on the blog! Always leave a place better than you found it.
